GDC Technics, an industry leader in aircraft modifications, MRO services, technical services, and electronic systems, concludes this summer’s internship program and hires over half to continue on with the company.
The GDC Technics internship program included nearly a dozen students with a variety of majors from colleges throughout Texas and the US. Throughout the summer, students worked with mentors from the GDC Technics team to work projects, meet those project deadlines, and brainstorm ideas for continuous improvement projects.
“Our Summer Internship Program is a fantastic way to bring on extraordinarily bright students to our team,” said Brad Foreman, GDC Technics CEO. “Not only do we get a chance to make a lasting impact on these students, but we get the opportunity to invest in the future and teach them about the professional work environment they’ll soon be a part of. They also have the opportunity to teach us a thing or two. The continuous improvement projects they were tasked with will do a lot to increase efficiency and reduce costs on technical documentation.” Foreman added, “All in all, we had another great summer of interns and we look forward to bringing on more amazing students next summer.”
Upon completing the program, the students presented their summer work in front of their peers and the GDC Technics Senior Leadership where they received a final performance review. Many of the students have since returned to school to conclude their education. Other summer interns were offered full-time positions or, for those completing their last semesters of college, the opportunity to extend their internships through the fall.
